Joe Weider's Muscle Builder/Power Magazine covered the bodybuilding scean during the golden age of bodybuilding. It was a magazine with lots of class and its style was copied by all the muscle publications of the day.
Joe Weider's Muscle Builder Review
Joe Weider along with brother Ben Weider founded the International Federation of BodyBuilders (IFBB), he is also creator of the Mr. Olympia and Ms. Olympia contests. He was the publisher of several bodybuilding and fitness related magazines and the manufacturer of a line of fitness equipment and fitness supplements.
At 17 years old Joe Weider published the first issue of Your Physique magazine in 1936. Thirty years later, in 1966, the publication was renamed Muscle Builder/Power magazine. The name changed again to Muscle & Fitness in 1980.
During the 1960's and 1970's Muscle Builder Power Magazine was THE Bodybuilding Magazine and covered all the greats of the sport such as Mr. Olympia winnners Larry Scott, Sergio Oliva, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Franco Columbu and Frank Zane. The articles in Muscle Builder Power, make for great reading, and some of the photographs are mind blowing. It was in the pages of Muscle Builder Power that Joe Weider introduced the Weider Training Principles. These principles were the champions proven methods of training and diet.
