Fitness, Figure and Bikini
Amateur athletes the world over
to compete in Columbus
Columbus,
Ohio – The top 300 amateur competitors
from around the world and USA will compete in the Arnold Amateur IFBB
International Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championships at
Veterans Memorial Auditorium and the Greater Columbus Convention Center March
5-7 as a part of the Arnold Sports Festival.
“Last year athletes from 40 different countries competed making
this one of the biggest international events of its kind” said Bob Lorimer, owner of MetroFitness Gyms and the events
co-producer. “We are fortunate
to collaborate with such wonderful partners like Rafael Santonja, President of
the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Jim Manion, President of the
Nation Physique Committee who help us bring together so many talented
competitors,” Lorimer added.
The Arnold Amateur Championships have become a
spring-board to the professional ranks.
“One of our success stories from last year is
Maria Del Carmen-Gomez,” says event co-producer Mike Davies of the Fitness
Factory. “She won her division in
amateur bodybuilding and this year is competing as a professional in the Ms.
International Contest.”
New this year is the Bikini division where competitors
have a chance to win an Arnold Fitness Weekend jacket and a one year
subscription to Posedown Magazine. Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure overall
winners will receive two tickets to attend the Arnold Classic and will have their photo taken with Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger.
$25 General Admission for Fitness and Figure PREJUDGING and Bikini competition 7 pm Thursday, March 5 at Veterans Memorial. $25 Reserved seating for Men’s and Women’s Bodybuilding PREJUDGING 9 am Friday, March 6 at Veterans Memorial.
